Use to come here as a kid, used to live not far from here, love coming back each trip to see how many new coins have been hammered into the 2 money stumps using the local rocks. The fairy steps bring back so many memories, apparently if you make a wish at the bottom, then climb the fairy steps without touching the sides then your wish will come true and you'll meet a fairy. Loved bringing my whole family here (22) adults and kids in August 2023.

Beautiful place to visit for a few hours. Was a little difficult to find the path to Fairy Steps as it wasn't well sign posted and the sat nav took us the wrong way. Definitely worth finding it in the end.

Lovely walk with the dog which involved a little bit of rock climbing. Well signposted once you find the footpath from one of the main roads in either direction. We parked in Beetham village and walked up. After seeing the steps we climbed back up the hill and counted five buzzards circling overhead. A perfect, atmospheric end to the walk.

Beautiful walk round the woodlands. Loads of history and folklore around you. Lovely place to walk round and just think and be. Loved the history around it and the stairs themselves. Amazing scenery and old creaky trees. Lovely walk round. Easy path to follow with directions all around it.

So much fun. Don't touch the sides and you'll see a fairy.

What a fantastic place to visit full of history and folklore , we parked in Beetham opposite the church and then asked a very helpful local the best way to go and following his instructions had a lovely circular walk upto the fairy steps and back round to the village, tried to walk down and back up without touching the sides which was fun and impossible, the scenery of the surrounding area was stunning and I would highly recommend a visit to the fairy steps if you are in the area.

Lovely family friendly wood walk. Suitable for toddlers. Not ok for pushchairs. Lots of blackberries on the side of the track, yum yum. Difficult to find a parking spot in the village. There is a parking lot but belongs to a hotel and costs 10£
